MVHP celebrates 32 years

MVHP Executive Director Jim Wilde

The Merrimack Valley Housing Partnership (MVHP) was founded in 1986.  In 1991, MVHP became a pioneer in the emerging field of home ownership education. A comprehensive series of home buyer training seminars was created and named Project Genesis. Each seminar series consists of 10 hours of instruction and is conducted over four evening sessions.

On May 10th, the MVHP celebrated its 32nd year of operation with its annual meeting and reception at the Whistler House.  Chrystal Kornegay, the executive director of MassHousing, served as the evening’s guest speaker.

Over 15,000 families have completed the Project Genesis home buyer training program so far. Classes begin every month and are offered in English, Spanish and Khmer.  Last month the Cummings Foundation announced it would be presenting a sustaining grant of $25,000 a year for the next ten years to the Housing Partnership.
